Does this sound reasonable?

I have an extremely tiny room.. And a sleigh bed. Well, I want to replace my sleigh bed with a futon because my sleigh bed blocks my dresser so I cant use it, and if I move it, it will block my closet and then I won't be able to use that. I asked my parents if I could get a futon (it will work because theyre lower and then I'll be able to use the drawers on my dresser) but they just told me to deal with it. Do you think it would be reasonable if I offered to take apart and store the old bed on my own and put in the futon while paying for everything? I mean, I wouldn't ask them to do anything then because I know that we don't have a lot of money right now. I think when I asked for it they assumed that they would be the ones paying. But if I offer to do everything on my own, is it a good idea? I really need more space, especially because I keep my pets in there.
