I got a new hamster yesterday, and think i may have scared her...?

Ok well i got a Pandabear Syrian. She was partially tamed, and so today I had a friend over, and we wanted to play with her. This is my first hamster so I got a bit scared, and jumped a few times, and attempted to pick her up MANY times, and chickened out. She would hide in the corners for a bit and come out, and so I finally got her to climb out of her cage and into her new ball. She played in it a bit, and so i brought her out onto my futon. So then she crawled around, and i think she got scared when i tried to keep her contained. So now shes in her cage, possibly sleeping and I think i may have overdone it and scared her. She wouldnt let me pick her up at all now....So what should I do. She doesnt bite, but i think i may have hurt our friendship and Im worried she may not like me.....:/ What should I do?
