What do i do about my basement?

When i go to other people's houses' they all have some place to hangout, a basement, a attic, a game room, or something like that. When people come over we go to my room :/ and since it's on the second floor, my parents room is right next to it and they can hear everything. When i have people spend the night we go to the living room on the 1st floor, it's right below my parents room. they can legit hear everything we say. my attic is 4 ft, and my basement is dirty and crowded with a bunch of boxes of clothes and toys i had when i was younger. My dad wants to clean it by summer, but that's 2 months, and i don't want to wait that long. i offered to clean it by myself but he said my mom needs to sort through everything to see what we're keeping. when he cleans it, he promised me a room down there. we're getting a futon and a tv and stuff down there. in 2 months. i don't want to wait that long. what should i do
