How to win a ex back who says "its just a break'?

My ex said it was just a break when we broke up.. He didnt want a girlfriend but its been weeks since we talked.. we fought a little bit but I really love him and want him back. A mutual friend texted him and asked him about us breaking up because I thought the "I dont want a girlfriend" excuse sounded kind of phony. My friend asked him if It was because I was a bad girlfriend that he dumped me and my ex wrote back exactly this "no.. not at all. she was the best thing to ever happen to me, shes really nice.. I just dont want a girlfriend right now".. hes graduating high school this month and getting a job.. please help me so i can win him back before summers over! i try texting him and he doesnt really text back...
